Eve Marie Performs at Historic Llanfyllin Workhouse

Belgian lyric soprano Eve Marie performed with North Wales Opera at the historic Llanfyllin Workhouse in Mid Wales as part of the company's acclaimed A Night at the Opera concert series.

Set within one of Wales' most unique heritage venues, the performance brought together a programme of fully staged opera scenes, celebrated arias, ensembles and classical crossover favourites. Accompanied by pianist and Musical Director Andrew Charity, the professional cast presented music by Mozart, Verdi, Bizet and Puccini alongside well-known concert repertoire.

During the evening, Eve Marie appeared in a variety of operatic roles, performing scenes as Countess Almaviva from Le nozze di Figaro, Micaëla from Carmen, Violetta from La Traviata and Musetta from La Bohème. The programme also featured the internationally renowned classical crossover favourite Time to Say Goodbye, before the full company closed the concert with Somewhere from West Side Story.

The concert formed the first performance in North Wales Opera's summer production of A Night at the Opera, showcasing professional singers from across the UK in an accessible evening of opera and musical theatre. The intimate surroundings of the Llanfyllin Workhouse created a unique atmosphere, allowing audiences to experience live opera in one of Mid Wales' most distinctive historic buildings.

For Eve Marie, the performance marked another important engagement in an increasingly busy 2026 season, following appearances in Rigoletto with North Wales Opera and a growing programme of concerts across the UK. As a Belgian lyric soprano based in North Wales, she continues to perform opera, oratorio, art song and classical crossover repertoire for audiences throughout the UK and Europe.

Following the success of the Llanfyllin performance, A Night at the Opera continues at Llangollen Pavilion, where the production expands to include the ladies' choir Lleisiau'r Afon for an even larger celebration of opera, ensemble singing and musical theatre.
